The GAC Aion Y is positioned as an affordable modern electric car. It can be characterized as a youth and family – comfort, economy and reliability for moderate money. GAC Aion Y is based on the GEP 2.0 platform. This modular platform is designed specifically for the production of electric cars. In China, this electric car has been produced since 2021. There are several model variants.

Quite an extensive choice of options. There is a version with a NEDC range of 500 km. There is a 63.98 kWh lithium-iron-phosphate battery, or a 59 kWh lithium-ion battery. There is a version with a 76.8 kWh lithium-ion battery and 600 km on a single charge. For a while there was a more affordable version of the GAC Aion Y electric car with a range of 410 km and a 70 kW (95 hp) electric motor, but it was abandoned in 2022.
