In Europe, a “battery passport” is going to be introduced from 2027. And it is not the same as a colored label on a washing machine – the document will contain a lot of data about the battery, including the materials used, characteristics, service life and disposal rules.
Why. A high-voltage battery is a technically complex product with many components and requires proper recycling at the end of its life. In order to bring order to this process, they decided to introduce the Battery Pass. The partners, by the way, are big car companies like BMW and Mercedes-Benz.
Do you think this is useful bureaucracy?
